In today’s review, we are going to be trying out ACT Anticavity Zero Alcohol Fluoride Mouthwash. We are going to test the taste and smell, its price vs competitors, does it burn when used, when should you use it, and features that make it stand out compared to others.

ACT Mouthwash Taste & Smell

The scent that we tested is called Arctic Blast. They do have other flavors as well such as soothing mint and Cinnamon. The arctic blast has a peppermint flavor to it with a slight amount of mint from what we could tell. It has a very refreshing taste unlike the cinnamon which can taste a bit too sweet.

For the smell test, we did the hand-to-breath test. You definitely smell the peppermint flavor, and it is not too strong.

We scored the taste level at 5 stars because we enjoyed it a lot. The smell we gave it a four because it wasn’t anything incredible.

How Much Does ACT Anticavity Zero Cost?

We purchased the ACT Anticavity on Amazon at the price of $4.29. This might have changed from the time you read this and when we purchased it. Based on the 18 Fluid Ounces in the bottle, that comes out to $.24/Fl Oz. It definitely is not the cheapest option out there, but also not the most expensive. It is moderately priced and based on our review, worth the price. Below are a few other brand comparisons on price.

TheraBreath – $14.57 for a bottle of 2 at 32 total Fluid Ounces > $.46/Fl Oz

Listerine Freshburst – $5.67 for a bottle with 33.8 Fluid Ounces > $.17/Fl Oz

Crest Pro-Health Advanced – $6.97 for a bottle with 31.9 Fluid Ounces > $.22/Fl Oz

Does it Burn When Used?

We have to say that we were surprised by how smooth it was. There was no burning sensation at all. The Zero alcohol definitely helps in preventing that burning sensation that everyone hates about a mouthwash. So if you are looking for something that does not burn, the ACT Zero Alcohol is your pick.

When Should You Use It?

We mentioned earlier in the article that they recommend using it in the morning and 30 mins before eating. It is not a bad time to use it, but we would recommend it after a morning meal, and here is why your meal will get rid of the fresh breath smell faster.

Some of you will argue that the smell isn’t the reason for using mouthwash. And we agree, the main benefits is to help it be an addition to your daily hygiene routine, but who doesn’t want fresh smelling breath. Some mouthwashes now offer odor fighting capabilities as well, keeping your mouth smelling fresh longer. So we recommend to ahve yoru breakfast and your coffee and then before you take off to work or any other activity to rinse with your mouthwash.

Benefits of ACT Anticavity Over Other Mouthwash

In our overall assessment we believe that ACT Anticavity Moutwash is a great product. There are other benefits to using it over some of its competitors and we are going to go over those now.

No Alcohol

We think this is a huge benefit over some of the competitors. The no alcohol in the mouthwash takes away that harsh burning you can get.

Fluoride

It has fluoride as an ingredient as well which helps in strengthening teeth, it can help resist decay and also help prevent cavities.

Dosing Cup

It also has a feature called the dosing cup. Basically, it allows you to squeeze the right amount of mouthwash up into the top of the bottle, ensuring you are drinking the correct amount at all times. Of course, you can just pour the right amount with other brands as well, we just found this a bit more of a cleaner option where you don’t have to put it out into the cup and just drink from the bottle.

Overall Rating

Our overall rating of the ACT Anticavity Zero Alcohol Fluoride Mouthwash is positive. We like the taste, the fact that is no burning sensation, ease of use, hygienic features, and overall price. We rate it a 4.7 out of 5.
